They always say that 3rd time is a charm and that was certainly the case at our 3rd First Friday event when Bruce Foxworthy charmed the audience with his endearing tales of life in the Entiat Valley during the Great Depression. From his trek up and down the valley with his father one winter day as his father parleyed favors and trades into a sled full of popping corn, to the descriptions of the band of Native American Indians which camped at the edge of the family orchard, Bruce's story telling was warm and vivid. Making Do and Hanging On: Growing up in Apple Country Through the Great Depression is available at the store. - March - 2009

At our 2nd First Friday event, Kay read select passages from and signed copies of her new book, City Without End. We were delighted to welcome Kay back to Read It Again to introduce this third book in "The Entire and The Rose" quartet. The series follows the adventures of Titus Quinn as he searches for his family lost in another universe (the Entire) and subsequently learns of the plans of its rulers to use his universe (the Rose) to fuel their continued existence. Stop by the store to pick up your copy today. - February - 2009

This was our 1st First Friday event at Read It Again. Everyone enjoyed the diverse Valentine themed poetry presented by this group of local poets. During a brief intermission, we all consumed "mass quantities" fine chocolates, coffee and tea. Here are a few photos of this event.
